Some people are saying 'don't colonize the moon'... but the moon is back in vogue, with the US, China and India all planning manned moon missions, the US desire to create a moonbase and the Japanese mission to map the moon and more. If there really is a man on the moon, he’s getting some new visitors and some new neighbours.

NASA has given the Space Shuttle Discovery a clean bill of health after Saturday's launch, clearing it to proceed to the International Space Station.

Space Shuttle Discovery safely reaches orbit

The Space Shuttle Discovery has safely reached orbit after NASA's first night time shuttle launch in four years.

Remember the movie Armageddon, where there were two new Space Shuttles ready and waiting for Bruce Willis and his crew to jump in and save the day? With NASA having so many issues just launching a space shuttle, let alone landing one safely, why aren’t we hearing more about a new spaceship?

NASA reschedules shuttle launch for Saturday

After aborting a launch at the last minute on Thursday due to bad weather, the Space Shuttle Discovery is now due for liftoff at 8:47 pm EST Saturday (12:47 pm AEDT Sunday).
The launch of Space Shuttle Discovery has been scrubbed due to poor weather conditions at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The world’s largest superconducting magnet has gone into action as Europe's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) particle accelerator begins to take shape.
