The Australian Computer Society says Griggs' appointment will take effect from Wednesday 20 December, 2023, to allow a handover with outgoing CEO Chris Vein who resigned earlier this month and concludes his appointment at the end of this year.
ACS President, Dr. Nick Tate, FACS CP, welcomed Josh Griggs’ appointment saying: “ACS greatly appreciates Josh taking on the interim CEO role. His IT and telecommunications background gives him a deep perspective into the opportunities and challenges that face ICT in Australia.
“His recent experience in business transformation was a key reason for ACS bringing him on board as the organisation continues with its journey to deliver better value to its members and the wider Australian technology community through the ACS strategic plan developed by CEO, Chris Vein, and the ACS Management Committee.

“All of us at ACS look forward to working with him for the next few months while we embark on an extensive search for a permanent replacement,” Tate concluded.
Josh Griggs joins ACS after a long career in the Australian and global IT and telecommunications industry that over the past 25 years has seen him serving as a CEO, Managing Director, and Vice-President at organisations including Optus Business, Alphawest, and data centre operator Metronode.
ACS says it has commenced an extensive search for a permanent CEO through the global, specialised talent solutions firm, Robert Half Executive Search, and ACS’ operations will continue as usual at the resumption of work on January 8.
