LG calls the new screen “Full Vision” and with that comes a new user graphical interface/experience (UX) 6.0. In simple terms, the screen is longer than the usual screen but no wider so it will play 16:9 format content nicely. It also makes one-handed use easier by a shrink gesture.
It also allows for a split screen (two independent screens side-by-side in landscape mode) and allows for opening a call reception window next to the calendar app or the photo gallery at the same time as the message app.
Juno Cho, president of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said “The LG G6 with FullVision was inspired by the philosophy of experts in the movie industry who believe that an 18:9 ratio screen would be the best solution for viewing both old and new cinematic content in the digital age. We’ve not only embraced that philosophy in our newest smartphone but taken it to a whole new level by incorporating the 18:9 format in many other ways. I think users will appreciate the many ways we’ve made the LG G6 more productive.”

Instead, it may use the new 14nm Snapdragon 821 Pro version that offers four cores – 2 x 2.35GHz and 2 x 1.6GHz and the Adreno 530 graphics engine giving it Vulcan support, 519.2 GFLOPS (the 820 has 407.4 GFLOPS) and Cat 12/13 LTE connectivity. The 835 may find its way into the next version of the V20 uberflagship – the V30.-
It also appears that LG has stayed with its dual camera set-up, offering both a standard lens and a wide-angle lens. With the 18:9 screen users can take a photo and review it simultaneously. It will also have an animated GIF feature allowing from two to 100 photos to be combined into a GIF loop. There is also a new food mode for enhancing food photos.
Other rumours are IP rating (say goodbye to a removable battery), 4/64GB/microSD, Wireless charging, 3200mAh battery, Quad DAC (as in the V20), and Android 7.x.
