In the land of Marvel, where heroes and villains clashed in epic battles, a new threat emerged. The Midnight Suns, a mysterious force bent on destruction and domination, threatened to engulf the land in darkness. But hope was not lost, for a group of unlikely allies came together to face this ominous enemy.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is an enjoyable experience, and soon one that can be experienced by millions more people.  The release date for iOS version has now been set, and here are some screen shots.

If ever there was a game created for Apples range of devices it is Candy Crush.  But if you like your gaming much deeper it would be hard to go past the acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown.  We had a chance to get our fingers poking into the new iPad version of this excellent game.

This game has been through the development wringer, first appearing as a derided first person style shooter a few years back.  However, 2K Games, publishers of the BioShock series, has managed to keep things getting too astray, causing too much damage to the coveted XCOM brand so successfully rebooted recently.  The Bureau manages to give XCOM strategy fans the chance to get into the alien action.

The 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 begins in LA next week.  Video-game companies fall over themselves to one-up each other as the show's opening day draws close.  2K Games has dropped iTWIre a bit more information on its E3 line-up, including Civilization V, Mafia II and a new XCOM game.

2K Games has announced the re-imagining of a classic game from years past.  It is time to break out your xenophobic feelings again as XCOM prepares for launch.
