Wafer-thin Apple TV rumours too 'slick' to be true?

Although any official Apple TV or iTV launch looks like it will be months, if not a year or more away, the buzz around any actual Apple branded television has heated up after an alleged former Apple employee spilled an alleged secret.

Apple to kill iPod classic?

Apple has never been scared to kill off products - even when they seem to be successful. When the iPod nano was introduced it resulted in Apple killing off its highest selling line - the iPod Mini. So, with iPod sales in decline, will Apple put the axe to the goose that has laid so many golden eggs?

Apple has sent out invitations to a 'special event' on the 1st of September at which a new Apple TV, a new Facetime compatible iPod Touch, 99c TV show rentals and presumably 'one more thing' are set to be unveiled.

iTV - Apple TV Mk 2 - coming soon?

Rumours have been circulating about an updated Apple TV for some time. They're getting more specific, and suggest the new device (supposedly to be called iTV) is significantly different to its predecessor.
