The case for being a Luddite

We live in strange times where meanings of words have been altered from their original to suit special interest group agendas.  Gay now means homosexual not happy; Conspiracy Theorist means nut case not someone who questions official spin; and Luddite means technology ignoramus not workers’ rights advocate.

A cleaner Internet - or a censored Internet?

A news report says Kevin Bermeister, of Kazaa fame, thinks major network equipment providers could easily use a 'global file registry filter' to 'reduce piracy' - but surely censorship could easily rear its even uglier head?

A growing number of web sites are planning online protests this month against the SOPA and PIPA legislation being introduced to the US House of Representatives and Senate. Wikipedia is the latest big-name site to join the cause.
