Interim R&D tax incentives will drive recovery: Carr

The Rudd Government has doubled the spending cap on its R&D tax offset scheme to $2 million as an interim measure aimed at small businesses as it continues work on a complete re-write of R&D investment incentives.

Australian ICT research centre of excellence NICTA has secured Microsoft’s top Asian R&D excecutive Yan-Qin Zhang as keynote speaker at its TechFest open house in Sydney next month.

CA axes 31 staff at Australian security R&D lab

Enterprise management software vendor CA has axed 31 staff at its Melbourne security R&D Lab in what it is calling a restructuring move. Melbourne is one of CA's largest centres for international R&D outside of the US and the move amounts to a downsizing of about 20%.
