GUEST RESEARCH: Bitdefender has identified four vulnerabilities in the LG WebOS (versions 4 through 7) impacting LG TVs. The vulnerabilities targeting LG WebOS allow an attacker to bypass authentication to add themselves as a user. From there, the attacker can escalate privileges to gain root access to the TV and use command injection to drop malware, snoop traffic, or move laterally across the smart home network.

The ABC has updated its iview app for certain smart TVs, bringing them into line with the Android TV and Apple TV versions.
