Progress Software's DataDirect Cloud service simplifies the integration of cloud-based and other systems with applications running on the Progress Pacific application platform as a service.
Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a leading independent enterprise software provider that enables companies to be operationally responsive, today announced the launch of Progress DataDirect Connect for JDBC, the industry's first Type 5 JDBC drivers. Progress Software developed this new class of drivers after recognizing the limitations in Type 4 JDBC driver architecture, which renders them impractical for use in modern Java applications. Type 5 Connect for JDBC drivers offer the same client-side, single-tier, 100% Java Type 4 architecture, while offering faster performance, better use of memory footprint, and simplified deployment, among other benefits.
