Digital infrastructure company Equinix has opened two IBX data centres in Johor (JH1) and Kuala Lumpur (KL1) in Malaysia, establishing a digital infrastructure in the country to support its digital economy ambition to become a regional digital hub.

Workflow provider in film and digital production The Rebel Fleet has deployed digital infrastructure company Equinix’s services in its International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre in Sydney and leveraged its Platform Equinix to get access to fibre, security, and colocation, as well as Equinix Fabric to connect all digital ecosystems such as major cloud service providers.

Equinix announced that it has extended into the strategic Indian market, following the completion of the acquisition of the India operations of GPX Global Systems (GPX India). The US$161 million all-cash transaction includes a fibre-connected campus in Mumbai with two data centres.

Equinix Australia has attained the Commonwealth Government’s Certified Strategic Hosting Provider status, the highest-level assurance required of data centre providers to host Commonwealth Government data, based on requirements defined in the Hosting Certification Framework managed by the Digital Transformation Agency.

Data centre operator Equinix is expanding its Sydney 3 data centre six months ahead of schedule.
