GUEST REVEIW:  In November 2024, DDoS attackers launched a campaign targeting Australian websites. It’s not out of the ordinary for Australian sites to be on the receiving end of DDoS attacks. However, this event was unusual, amounting to a surge of over 60 DDoS attacks on 39 different websites during the month.

GUEST OPINION:  As more and more businesses embrace digital transformation, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) have become a crucial part of practically every company's IT infrastructure. APIs are useful because they make it easier for programs to communicate with one another and share information, but they also pose security risks. Implementing a strong API security strategy is crucial for protecting APIs and the sensitive data they handle. Protection against cyberattacks and unauthorised use is an essential part of API security. All requests made to an API should be checked for authenticity and validity by a security system.

Cloud computing is well and truly entrenched, and with it, software developers are increasingly expected to create and deploy cloud-based services and APIs. There’s a new programming language on the block, Ballerina, which makes it easier for developers to integrate cloud-native services, data, transactions, and processes, in both a pro-code and low-code form.
