HP’s new Envy 13 is a value packed, Intel 7th generation, Core i5 or i7 notebook that is a step above the HP Pavilion and other value sub-brands. It also comes in both 13” and 15” models and with a choice of clamshell or x360° style hinges.

And the winner is – sorry, you will have to read the article to find out. But HP’s new x2 Spectre raises the bar in some areas, as does Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2017.

HP Spectre x2 (2017) is a premium Windows 10 PC tablet/detachable keyboard – a style popularised by Microsoft’s Surface Pro. In some respects, it beats the new Surface Pro 2017 – and that is saying something.

As sales of PCs decline for 11 straight quarters, with Gartner stats showing a further 4.2% decline in Q2 2017, and IDC a 3.3% decline in the same period, Mac marketshare is up.
