Global shipments of traditional PCs fell 15.3% in the second quarter of 2022 to 71.3 million units, the technology analyst firm IDC says, adding that the year-on-year drop was the second consecutive decrease after two years of increases.
Shipments of personal computers in China grew by 9% or by 16.5 million units in the final quarter of 2021, making the figure for the whole year a record 57 million units, an increase of 10% year-on-year, figures from the technology analyst firm Canalys show. Tablets were not included in the count.
Shipments of PCs in China have grown by 3% year-on-year in the third quarter to a record of more than 15 million units, the technology analyst firm Canalys says, adding that this reflected growth of 10% quarter-on-quarter.
