Pluto looks like molasses brew to Hubble

Researchers at Southwest Research Institute have used the Hubble Space Telescope to take images of the dwarf planet Pluto. Because of its tilt to the Sun, its atmosphere actually freezes and falls to the ground, forming large molasses-colored patches. Why? Don't know yet. But, New help is just over the Horizon!

On Friday, September 17, 2008, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) announced that the celestial body formerly known as 2003 EL61 has been renamed “Haumea,” the Hawaiian goddess of childbirth and fertility, and classified as the fifth dwarf planet within the Solar System.

The International Astronomical Union recently recognized Makemake as a dwarf planet and classified it as a plutoid. Makemake, the celestial body, was named after Makemake, the bird-man god of Easter Island.
