The global security firm Websense reckons that your social media identity may prove more valuable to cybercriminals than your credit cards, and that bad guys will actively buy and sell social media credentials in online forums.

Customers wins Coles Express ATM deal

ATM operator, Customers, has secured a five-year deal with Coles Express to provide a full managed service across more than 400 ATMs in Coles' service stations and convenience stores.

Cobol, 50 years on and it's still doing its job

Windows XP cash machines can steal your PIN

It is bad enough that the bad guys constantly try and phish your financial data via email and fake websites, now cash machines are getting in on the act.

New Zealand  banking  group, BNZ, is set to deploy NCR ATM’s which use printing technology that NCR claims reduces paper consumption by as much as 45 percent, with printing on both sides of a thermal paper receipt.

Is your money at risk between ATMs and banks?

You've probably become used to checking the card slot on ATMs for any sign that a 'skimmer' has been installed, and if you're like me you've also got into the habit of shielding the keypad when you key in the PIN. Now there are reports that criminals have found a way of capturing PINs in transit.

Many Australians have apparently reacted to the current financial crisis by abandoning or limiting their use of credit and debit cards and are now using cash as a way to control their spending, according to a study by ATM manufacturer, NCR.
