The Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) has the goods you'd expect from Ring - 1080p HD video, two-way talk, live view, real-time notifications, customisable motion and privacy zones, colour night vision, plug-in-power - and it's also Ring's first-ever security camera to include a privacy cover.
Flip the cover over the camera lens, and it turns off both audio and video recording. Thus, the camera provides you peace of mind when you're out of the home, as well as giving you privacy when you're in the home.
The Ring Indoor Camera (2nd Gen) is available now for $99, or $NZ 119, from amazon.com.au and ring.com/au/en.

The features listed above come out-of-the-box - the HD video, two-way talk, and colour night vision are all part of its hardware. Other features such as live view, real-time notifications, and customisable motion and privacy zones come through the free Ring app for your smartphone or tablet, or via the Ring website.
You can also supplement these with the Ring Protect subscription plan which provides extra capabilities, such as advanced pre-roll. This is a nice feature that shows you what led up to an event. For instance, your camera records motion and alerts you, but the pre-roll also gives you extra seconds of footage of what was happening right before the motion was detected, giving extra information.
The Ring Protect plan also saves your footage to the Ring cloud so you have historical video, which you can download, or share in other ways.
If you have other Ring devices, the plan scales to suit, with prices topping out at four or more devices, but without limiting the number of devices you have. That is, you can add as many Ring devices to your home as you like but once you've hit your fourth device the subscription price remains the same.
I'm a Ring user myself since 2017, and in my home I have a Ring doorbell, Ring spotlight cam pro battery, and Ring flood spotlight camera. One thing I appreciate about the Ring ecosystem is you can also link devices together. For instance, if my front yard camera detects motion I can automatically set the doorbell and the side gate/path camera to record too, giving me a big circle - a ring of protection, if you will - of insight into what is happening.
And, hey, you can also have some fun with your Ring devices too!
