Razer reshapes e-sports dominance with new Razer Viper V3 Pro mouse

By

Gaming lifestyle brand Razer has released a new mouse, the Razer Viper V3 Pro, designed in close collaboration with e-sports professionals. It's no mere mouse; it is the mouse of champions.

The new Razer Viper V3 Pro features ultra-lightweight design and cutting-edge technology and has been battle-tested in the most demanding of competitive environments. It has been crafted in close collaboration with top e-Sports pros, such as zekken, the champion and MVP of the most recent Valorant Champions Tour Masters Madrid. It's a mouse that Razer says is the apex of esports engineering and the pinnacle of symmetrical wireless e-sports performance mice.

"The Viper V3 Pro has transformed my gameplay," said Zachary “zekken” Patrone. "Its lightweight new design hands me an edge that feels almost unfair. It's a game-changer for esports pros."

The new Razer Viper V3 Pro has been redesigned from the inside out to prioritise its ultra-lightweight build and best-in-class performance. It is available in black and white editions, with a retail price of $US 159.99.

The core of the Viper V3 Pro is the Razer Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2, that delivers precision with 99.8% resolution accuracy. Gamers can fine-tune their control with individual DPI incremental adjustments, and a DPI sensitivity matcher to precisely match the Viper V3 Pro to the sensitivity of any other mice they may be previously accustomed to.

Paired with the Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle which combines Razer’s flagship technologies – Razer HyperSpeed Wireless and Razer HyperPolling Technology, this e-sports gaming mouse supports up to a true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate, ensuring best-in-class ultra-low-latency responsiveness and flawless performance. As a result, gamers can be assured that every movement and click will be perfectly synchronised with on-screen actions, even in the most demanding tournament environments.

The mouse weighs only 54g and has been rigorously tested by over 45 professional players across five major tournaments, ensuring its readiness for the most challenging competitive environments. Notable enhancements include larger mouse feet, a smooth touch finish, a strategically placed DPI button on the underside, and gap-separated side buttons, to prevent misclicks and enhance gameplay.

"Constant innovation is at the heart of what we do at Razer, especially within the esports arena," said Razer director of Global e-sports Jeffrey Chau. "The Viper V3 Pro was born from the invaluable insights of Team Razer’s elite esports pros. With its revolutionary shape, lightweight build, and our most advanced technology to date, it is engineered to provide the best precision and speed, enabling gamers to outperform and reach their full potential."

In 2023, Razer set an industry benchmark with the world’s first true 8000 Hz wireless polling rate, featuring the lowest wireless click latency at 0.461ms. The innovative new “auto-change polling rate” feature automatically adjusts the polling rate during gameplay to minimize battery life impact without sacrificing the gaming experience, allowing for up to 95 hours of uninterrupted play. In addition, the Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3 provide a durable 90 million click lifecycle, ensuring speed while eliminating any double-click issues and debounce delay.

The Razer Viper V3 Pro is the first core PC peripheral within Razer's portfolio to incorporate post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR), with its top shell made from 85% PCR. Razer has successfully overcome the traditional trade-off of weight associated with PCR plastics, significantly reducing environmental impact. This innovation aligns with Razer's dedication to high performance without compromising on environmental impact, maintaining the lightweight design and durability that the Viper series is known for in the esports arena. Razer is also eliminating plastics from packaging, optimising packaging size with minimalistic designs, and utilising FSC-certified paper with soy ink to continuously minimise its environmental footprint.
