New Western Digital SN770 NVMe SSD turbo-charges your PC gaming

By

Western Digital has launched a new SSD into the market, the WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD. The new drive offers up to 40% faster performance and up to 20% more power efficiency at maximum speed over the previous generation. It’s aimed squarely at PC gamers giving faster, longer, quieter gameplay.

I once saw a T-shirt that said, "it doesn't matter what the problem is; the solution is more power” and when it comes to SSDs that’s pretty much true. Whether you have a modern PC or an older PC you will benefit from a great SSD. In fact, for older PCs, an SSD is - alongside increasing RAM - the single-best thing you can do to give a huge increase to your PC’s performance and your enjoyment of it.

Western Digital's new WD_BLACK_ SN770 NVMe SSD fuels gaming PC rigs with faster speeds and longer gameplay while reducing power consumption and keeping your fans quieter over previous generations of SSDs.

“As more gamers look to make the transition to PCIe Gen4 systems, we believe it is important for the PC gaming community to have a variety of reliable, high-performing solutions to level up their gaming rigs,” said Western Digital Vice President of sales Stefan Mandl. “The new WD_BLACK SN770 NVMe SSD makes Gen4 technology more accessible, helping more gamers get into the game faster and improve their overall gaming experience.”

The new unit is a PCIe Gen4 interface with stunningly fast read speeds of up to 5,150MB/s (1TB and 2TB models) to fuel in-game responsiveness, minimise stutter, and provide smooth streaming - with a performance boost gamers will see and feel.

It's also backwards compatible for those with Gen3 systems meaning you can use it now even while you’re still upgrading the rest of your system.

It also offers consistent performance at maximum speed due to its advanced thermal management and 20% increased power efficiency.

The drive is available now in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB models, and recommended pricing begins at only $95.
