Nanoleaf unveils new modular ceiling light panels to transform your indoor lighting

By

Smart lighting design and innovation company Nanoleaf has announced the first-of-its-kind ceiling light panels, the Nanoleaf Skylight Modular Ceiling Light Panels. Like all Nanoleaf products, you have a vast range of customisation in how you lay out the panels and the lighting effects you apply to them.

Smart lights are a pretty cool thing; you can turn your lights on and off by a schedule, through a smartphone app - whether you're home or not - and even by voice command to your smart assistant. However, Nanoleaf takes things a step further than others, with its wide array of shapes that piece together to produce designs totally unique to your home and your mind. You can join squares, triangles, hexagons, lines, and all kinds of things - or you can get regular globes, of course. And each shape or globe can have its own RGB setting letting you set the mood for any occasion.

Nanoleaf's latest innovation, the new Skylight Modular Ceiling Light Panels, now affix to your ceiling. As always with Nanoleaf, you can control it by app, voice, switch, or schedule, and, of course, they have full RGB expression from the brightest white to the most esoteric colour combination you desire. And, again in the inimitable Nanoleaf style, you can layout the ceiling panels however you like, adding more and more panels.

The Nanoleaf Skylight revolutionises smart ceiling fixtures by creating the beauty of an open-air "sky" experience for your living and working spaces. With remote work as the new norm for many, people are spending more time in their homes than ever before, which can have negative impacts on mood and energy levels. Well, Skylight combats that by bringing you optimal spaces that are bright (1400 lumens per panel) and evenly illuminated with crisp whites (2700-6500K colour temperature range) and 16M+ vibrant colours, transforming homes to feel more open and refreshed.

Skylight features a flush-mounted modular square design with diffused multi-point lighting, creating a soft and natural lighting experience that brings the beauty of nature inside. Seamlessly adjust colours and Scenes like “Gentle Rain” or “Sun Shower” to set the ideal ambience for morning to evening routines in the bedroom or focus time in office spaces. With Schedules, wake up to a gentle sunrise Scene filled with soft oranges and pinks to help energize you in the mornings, and ease yourself to sleep as you lay under a glimmering star effect when winding down for the evening. As an added security measure, users can remotely control Skylight or set the lights to automatically turn on and off at desired times to keep your home safe while away.

Hard-wire one square, and then add up to 100 additional squares across your ceiling, with the freedom to create your own designs using the modular set-up. For the first time ever, users can extend their ceiling fixture into hard-to-reach spaces that were previously impossible to illuminate. Each square emits 1400 lumens of light with a lifespan of 25,000 hours.

Built with Nanoleaf’s full suite of smart features, Skylight includes the Rhythm Music Visualizer, Schedules, Magic Scenes, RGBW colour options, and much more. Control Skylight with the Nanoleaf App via Wi-Fi, with your preferred smart home ecosystem, or with your traditional light switch.

Nanoleaf Skylight is now available for preorder at go.nanoleaf.me, and will come with a recommended retail price of $469.99 ($NZ 519.99) for the three-piece Smarter Kit, and then $139.99 ($NZ 159.99) for individual expansion pack tiles. The product will ship in mid-February.

Nanoleaf products can also be controlled through the Corsair iCue software to match your lighting with your computer RGB lights, and via the Elgato Stream Deck range too.
