Great tech Mother's Day gift ideas Featured

By

Stuck on gift ideas for Mum? Here are great tech gift ideas sure to brighten her day and make you the number one child.

Previously, iTWire supplied a Mother's Day gift guide with an excellent range of items for Mums of different types. Well, here is more inspiration for you because, after all, Mum's worth it.

Memories for Mum

Help Mum with precious memories from Printed Memories. We all know first-hand how deeply the right photo at the right time can impact someone. And, the pandemic has also taught us that digital can't always replace physical. Printed Memories has a heartwarming range of options in its Mother's Day collection to make the day extra special.

One example is the Mother's Day Star Map Blanket that captures the stars' alignment on a meaningful date, creating a beautiful and cozy reminder of Mum's unwavering love.

Another is the Printed Pet Memory Disney-style pet portrait that provides a unique memento of a beloved pet. In fact, iTWire tried this out for ourselves to celebrate and honour Isabella the cat who sadly passed too early. You can see her here below and how affectionately she used to sit next to me as I worked, and the Printed Memories artistic rendition of her, which is coming in the mail as an actual print.

For really special gifts that turn your mother's precious memories, or those of your family, into wonderful gifts that will absolutely delight and warm the heart. Prices vary based on item, size, and other options.

What's more, for every order, Printed Memories will plant a tree so you're helping the planet too.

Help Mum in the kitchen

If your Mum is a whiz in the kitchen then a good kitchen gadget can go a long way. Or, then again, if your Mum hates being in the kitchen, well, the same gadgets can make cooking easier and simpler to help create nutritious and great-tasting items reliably, and repeatably.

Philips has you covered with the Philips 5000 Series XXL connected airfryer and the Philips 5400 Series fully automatic espresso machineiTWire looked at the Philips 5000 Series XXL connected airfryer previously, and can say it is a perfect gift for mothers who want delicious family meals without the hassle. Whether roasting chicken or cooking your favourite veggies, it's never been easier with the smart app-connected Philips airfryer. It retails for $449.

Another great option is the Philips 5400 Series fully automatic espresso machine, which retails for $1,399. If Mum is a self-indulgent coffee lover, the Philips 5400 Series coffee machine is an unbeatable gift for Mum this Mother's Day. You can easily make 12 different barista-level coffees with the touch of a button. Coffee has truly never been more customisable and guarantees the perfect aromatic start to the morning.

Of course, you don't have to cook in the kitchen. The Ooni range lets you fire out jaw-dropping pizzas in 60 seconds flat with no assembly, no mess, or fuss. Hook up the gas and enjoy the outdoors with wonderful-tasting food. You can also roast meats.

The Ooni Koda 12 retails for $649, and its big brother the Ooni Karu 16 provides multiple fuel options - use wood or charcoal instead of gas to give a subtle wood-fired flavour. The Ooni Karu 16 retails for $1,499.

Keep Mum safe

Your home ought to be your castle, but sometimes you can't be sure others feel the same way about your home as you do. Or, you might simply need to speak to couriers and tradespeople even though you've had to go out for the day. Whatever your need, Ring can encase your home or office in its protective, watchful eye. Combine multiple Ring devices and you have, well, a ring of security no matter if it is your front door, your garden, or inside.

Start with Ring's best-known product, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 and ensure Mum can keep an eye on the home anytime, from anywhere. iTWire has previously looked at this doorbell, and in fact, I use it myself on my own front door.

The Ring Video Doorbell 4 retails for $329.

Another great option is the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (2 Pack) which helps ensure Mum never misses life's special moments. This indoor camera is perfect for checking on the home, the kids, and the fur babies too. It is easily installed because it uses Wi-Fi and battery so there is literally no cabling. It blends nicely into your decor, motion-activated alerts, Two-Way Talk, and more. With the two-pack bundle, you can keep an eye on two places at once. Put it where you need it, and move it when you need to.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (2 Pack) retails for $329, but is currently on sale for $259, making it excellent value.

The different Ring products will all work together in clever ways; you can set them up so motion on one camera triggers recording on another, for example. However, none of the Ring products requires any other; you can start with the Stick Up Cam and later take up the Video Doorbell, or vice-versa.

Another great Ring product iTWire has been using is the excellent Ring Spotlight Cam Pro Battery. This camera retails for $329 and is also totally wireless. Mount it on the outside of your home, or elsewhere. I have mine on a tree in my front yard. Provided you can reach it to replace batteries, and it is in range of your Wi-Fi, you can absolutely stick it anywhere. It comes with a mounting kit to help you attach it securely. The camera has a terrific wide range of vision, motion sensitivity, a spotlight, two-way talk, and an alarm that you can trigger manually or even via automation. What's more, it has space for two batteries to give you a longer running time. The batteries easily pop out and back in so if you have more than one battery you can keep your cam running with no downtime at all.

RingOutdoorCam

As with the other Ring items, the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery fits into your ring of protection and can trigger your other devices. For instance, if you see motion in the driveway or footpath, start your doorbell recording. Or do all kinds of things. Heck, even if you're not using it as a camera, it provides a terrific night light for extra safety when you come home in the dark, illuminating the path for you.
