Coal for a clod

By
Internet censorship is certainly no diamond.  In fact if we all work together, it will come to nothing but coal.

When it comes to Internet filtering, the number of separate protests is rising.  Late last week, we had the fake StephenConroy website debacle, now we see Michael Meloni's SomebodyThinkOfTheChildren site spin off a new protest.

We exhort all readers to visit the new site TheGiftofCensorship where the 'naughty' Senator will receive his reward from the 'nice' netizens.

Sign the petition on the site and leave a comment to express your opinion of the filter.  All submissions will be delivered in a large red sack, just in time for Christmas.  And for every 1000 responses, Sen. Conroy will receive a stocking full of coal.  Just what he needs / deserves.

Michael Meloni, an IT manager and anti-censorship campaigner from Brisbane and creator of the ThinkOfTheChildren site, said he "built the site to inform the public about all the kinds of legal websites that will be blocked when the government's mandatory ISP filtering policy is introduced.

"I want to show people that blocking refused classification websites doesn't just mean blocking child pornography, there's lots of legal stuff as well."

There is also a rally planned in all capital cities on January 30th to protect the filter.  Be there or be filtered.
