AMD RZYEN 3 completes new processor lineup

By

AMD’s new RYZEN 3 series completes the consumer to gamer processor roadmap complementing its 5 and 7 series – it now covers everything from low power draw notebooks to high-performance e-sports desktops.

There are two 4-core, 4-thread Ryzen 3 desktop CPUs which support the new RYZEN AM4 infrastructure. AMD Ryzen 3 1300X and Ryzen 3 1200 are designed to deliver optimum performance for e-sports gaming and computing applications. They have four physical processing cores, all multiplier unlocked.

Jim Anderson, senior vice-president and general manager, Computing and Graphics Group, said, “These past few months have been an exciting period for AMD with the global launch of Ryzen 7, designed for even the most demanding power users, and the release of Ryzen 5, which meets and even exceeds the needs of serious Prosumers.

“Ryzen 3 is a significant addition to our Ryzen desktop processor lineup, scaling industry leading responsiveness and performance into a budget-friendly package for mainstream users.

"AMD’s Ryzen processor line re-energizes innovation and competition across the entire PC market, providing consumers with a newfound selection of processors that can fulfil their computing needs at virtually every price point.”

Ryzen 3 1300X delivers a base clock of 3.5 GHz, a precision boost of 3.7GHz, and can clock as high as 3.9 GHz with XFR in the presence of premium cooling.

Ryzen 3 1200 maintains a base clock of 3.1 GHz and a precision boost of 3.4 GHz.

All Ryzen series processors feature a true artificial intelligence inside that employs a neural network to learn about your applications to send workloads down the fastest pathway inside the CPU for optimised performance.

Ryzen 3 processors are also AMD VR Ready3.

Wraith Stealth & Max Thermal Solutions

The AMD Ryzen 3 lineup includes the Wraith Stealth cooler - the quietest, lowest-profile option in the Wraith cooler line-up.

AMD has also released the top-of-the-line Wraith Max cooler with RGB programmable LED for US$59. Compatible with AM4, AM3, and FM2 motherboards, the Wraith Max cooler is powerful enough to provide the premium cooling required to enable XFR on Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X, and Ryzen 5 1600X while maintaining a noise level under 38dBA.
