Fuse to hit Aussie shores soon

By

Independent American studio Insomniac’s first multiplatform game, Fuse, finally has an Australian release date.

The game was demonstrated at EA’s US Showcase event last year alongside titles like SimCity and Crysis 3, and will arrive on May 30 in Australia.

Insomniac Games created Disruptor, the first three Spyro the Dragon games and the Ratchet & Clank franchise, but until now all its games have appeared on Sony’s Playstation platforms.

EA will release the title on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

iTWire had a hands-on preview of the game back in December where we found it to be full of ‘dry humour’ but also the ‘exotic alien weapons you’d find in District 9.”

Fuse tells the story of four covert agents with their own xenotech weapon and set of unique skills, who use these tools and abilities to protect mankind from an alien energy source known as “fuse.”

The game seems to have a heavy focus on multiplayer co-operation unlike Insominac's previous games, but has similar weapons to those seen in the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance titles.

Insomniac’s previous titles have generally received critical acclaim and been a hit with fans, but we’ll know a lot more come May 30.
