Ubisoft announce the follow up to the popular first person shooter for the PC. This time around Far Cry 2 takes the player off the tropical island and into multiple locations. Hopefully this time around, Far Cry 2 will involve a different player wardrobe as well.
In 2004 Far Cry showed us a new level of first person gaming interaction. Set on a tropical island, clothed only in a garish red ‘Hawaiian” shirt, the protagonist fought against cunning AI driven enemies as well as the environment itself.
In Far Cry, if you could see it, you could get to it. Distant mountains could be reached with a bit of determination, and owning the sniper rifle meant kills from kilometres away.
Now Ubisoft Montreal announces Far Cry 2, taking you into Africa.
"Far Cry marked the beginning of a new era for shooters. An era of gorgeous graphics and of advanced artificial intelligence," declared John Parkes, marketing director, EMEA. "We are confident that Far Cry 2 will have the same impact again on the face of the FPS genre."

Lots of rumours, but no confirmation of Far Cry 2 coming to other platforms. Most likely the Xbox 360 will see an iteration of Far Cry 2 as it did for the original game.
