The pilot project will analyse the air quality of the port of Gijón, the surrounding community and industry.
It was initiated by EnviroSuite’s distribution partner BlacktoGreen and is part of an Asturian government move to improve air quality in the Gijón region.
The six-month pilot project may be extended after initial findings are gathered and analysed.

The software interprets the data into information that can be used to reduce operating costs and compliance expenditure.
A statement from EnviroSuite said its software had been used at several ports internationally and in many cases initial projects had been converted into ongoing subscriptions.
Chaim Kolominskas, general manager - Europe at EnviroSuite, said: "Air quality is an important focus area for environmental management in Asturias. The region has many industrial plants and the government already collects significant amounts of atmospheric data.
"However, it is looking for new ways to manage and analyse this information to better understand the sources of contaminants and drive improvements in regional air quality.
"EnviroSuite's real-time analytical capabilities provide an opportunity to identify risks as they occur and respond rapidly to emerging air quality issues across the entire region."
