Hi, I am Jan Shaw – Ray’s wife. He occasionally he asks me to do a review because he would not been seen dead with a women’s clutch or bag.
STM is a Sydney based company – Bondi Beach actually – and it has become a global sensation in computer bags. They also make tablet and phone cases including for the new iPhone 6s/Plus.
I last reviewed the Maryanne small tote . It is still a STM staple and is my favourite bag – after two years it is still in great shape.
Times move on and STM has developed the Grace Collection honouring U.S. Navy Admiral ‘Amazing’ Grace Hopper. The collection comprises a 13” and 15” deluxe laptop sleeve with carry handles; 11/12” (MacBook Air or Surface 3), 13” (MacBook Pro or Surface 3 Pro), and 15” laptop sleeves (MacBook 15” or Ultrabook) without handles; and a clutch bag for cables and accessories.
Colours include night sky; purple; teal dot/night sky; and coral/dove.

The outer is made from 100% polyester. It has a fine canvas feel for the bottom half and a finer top magnetic flap/fold over section – nice. The inside is lined with velour over padding. This prevents scratching and cradles the device.
The deluxe laptop sleeve has handles – long enough to go over your shoulder as a tote but not long enough as a shoulder strap that places the bag on your hip. These have a side zippered pocket for accessories and a magnetic flap to cover the notebook.
The laptop sleeves do not have handles and are really only large enough to fit the notebook/tablet.
The clutch is a matching accessory – two zippered compartments big enough to fit cords, chargers and pens etc.
STM is all about quality so you can expect a good finish, durable materials, zips that do not break, and a certain style that suits the female executive.
For men there are plenty of other choices ranging from military look to corporate grey. They also make a Microsoft Surface range – the Dux model exceeds U.S. Department of Defence standard 810F/G – it you like to throw your surface about.
