The Belkin USB-C 11-in-1 multiport dock provides maximum power with minimum space

By

If you spend your days hunched over a laptop then stop! You need a dock, and Belkin has come out with a superb dock that’s light in size but big in features, for any USB-C laptop or tablet.

The Belkin USB-C 11-in-1 multiport dock provides, you guessed it, 11 ports to plug into, turning your laptop into a powerful workstation. Let’s count them:

  • 4K HDMI
  • 4K DisplayPort 1.2
  • VGA
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • USB-C
  • 3x USB-A
  • SD
  • MicroSD
  • Audio out

In addition, there's a power socket to connect the dock to a power point, which gives you up to 100W of pass-through power to your devices, thus keeping your laptop charged for when you remove it from the dock and go on your way.

There's also a USB-C cable to connect the dock to your laptop or tablet.

With four USB ports, you have plenty of options. Plug in a mouse, keyboard, memory stick, and something else - headphones, the Elgato StreamDeck, a USB hard drive, a microphone, even a DisplayLink screen - whatever you need.

And, with gigabit Ethernet, you can tap into faster, stable networking than relying on Wi-Fi alone or worrying about working in a Wi-Fi dead spot.

Then there are the display options; you have HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA, which should help you work with whatever monitors you’ve got. You can run one, two, or even three displays from these - and potentially more via USB.

For starters, you have the obvious single display with HDMI or DisplayPort at 3840x2160 4K resolution @ 30Hz, or VGA 1920x1080 HD @ 60Hz.

Then, for Windows computers, you can also run a dual display at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, or a triple display at 1280x720 resolution @ 60Hz.

macOS computers have some extra flexibility with dual display HDMI + DisplayPort at 3840x2160 4K resolution @ 30Hz, dual display HDMI/DisplayPort + VGA HD 1920x1080 @ 60Hz, and a triple display at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.

All this comes in a tidy little package; Belkin has made a terrific unit whose small size hides its power. Nicely, it’s also angled to double as a laptop stand and cooler, lifting the rear of your laptop off the desk.

It's powerful enough to leave on your home office, workplace, or desk, plugged into the network, speakers, monitors, keyboard, mouse, and whatever else you need - allowing you to simply put the laptop down, plug it in, and work away. On the other hand, it’s small and light enough to take with you should you need to. Perhaps you’re going to another office for the day, or maybe you simply like the laptop stand and the cooling it gives.

It's a great dock, and well worth looking at for anybody who types, browses, works, or plays on a USB-C laptop or desktop - so, somebody like you and I.

The Belkin USB-C 11-in-1 Multiport Dock retails for $249.95 and is available from Belkin’s website and JB Hi-Fi.
