Iridium and SpaceX team up for NEXT project

Iridium Communications (Iridium) and Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) announced on June 16, 2010, that they will be joining forces so that SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket can provide launch servives for Iridium's NEXT satellite constellation.

Private company Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, or SpaceX, made its first successful launch on Sunday, September 28, 2008. The company’s founder, Elon Musk, described the success of Falcon 1 as “awesome” and “great to have this giant monkey off my back.”
