It's a dog day afternoon for GoPro

By

Cat photos have long been the Internet's best friend but it's time for dogs to finally have their time in the sun, with GoPro launching a new accessory for canines.

GoPro Fetch, announced today, is a specially designed mount for GoPro cameras allowing users to capture the world from their dog's point of view.

GoPro cameras, self-described as "the world's most versatile camera", are known for being lightweight, rugged, wearable or mountable in unusual places. The latest model, the GoPro Hero 3+ ,weighs just 74g and measures 60 x 40 x 20mm.

This clips inside a watertight case (waterproof to 60 metres) and screws on to the appropriate attachment.

GoPros have been used for everything from surfing and snowboarding videos to massive fireworks displays while attached to a drone.

But it's your dog's turn. The GoPro Fetch harness features two mounting locations: the chest, and the back, for over-the-head shots.

The add-on includes a camera tether and water resistance, too, so your furry friend can frolic and gallop without losing your precious expensive camera.

Fetch costs US$59.99 (not including a camera), and is already out of stock, for now.
