GlassUp, much like Google Glass, are app-enabled glasses that pair up with smartphones to deliver data and information onto the lenses.
The company today kicked off an Indiegogo campaign, aiming for $150,000 from glassy-eyed fans looking to pre-order a pair.
The GlassUp runs Android onboard, although it will connect with either Android, iOS or Windows Phone devices via low-powered Bluetooth 4.0.

While with Google's Glass you can look at a product, for example, and receive information on the go, GlassUp's product will be "receive only", at least initially.
In that sense the GlassUp is probably more similar to the Pebble watch, in that you can read text messages and calendar updates without looking at your smartphone, but not much further.
The display will only be 320X240 pixels, compared with Google Glass's 640X360-pixel display, and the glasses are not the best looking available, although the company said "we are in agreements with some of the most famous eyewear brands for the design, so the final ones will be trendier and more varied" in its Indiegogo pitch.
Prescription versions are also in the works.
GlassUp has begun taking pre-orders for $399 for non-prescription glasses and $499 for the prescription version, while $1 will get you "a smile."
Google Glass beta testers had to pony up $1,500, so $399 is less than a third of that amount.
GlassUp said it plans ship pre-orders by March 2014 and will continue with production even if the IndieGoGo campaign doesn't reach its final goal.
$31,605 has currently been raised out of $150,000.
