From 7 February to 26 April, Vodafone customers on Prepaid $30, $40 and $50 Cap plans won't be charged for the data they use at weekends.

They will also be able to make unlimited standard weekend calls to China, UK, US, India and New Zealand.

Naturally, the offer only applies to use within Australia, and as always the fair use policy applies.

The deal is restricted to personal use, but is available to customers with a valid Prepaid $30, $40 and $50 Cap recharge on 7 February as well as those who purchase a starter pack or recharge for one of those plans during the offer period.

The free calls and data are available even if you've run out of credit, as long as you're still within the 28-day validity of the most recent Cap recharge.

"Many Prepaid customers have told us... they keep a close eye on their data usage as they're unsure of how much data different activities and apps use. They're worried it will use up all their credit," said recently appointed chief marketing officer Loo Fun Chee.

Last year, the company ran separate promotions offering free weekend data or overseas calls.

They resulted in more than twice as much data being used, and three times as much voice traffic.
