Samsung Electronics unveils the Galaxy Tab A8, a gadget for teachers, students, and even gamers

Samsung Electronics unveils the Galaxy Tab A8, a portable gadget that matches users’ everyday lifestyles and budgets and syncs with other Galaxy devices.

“In a world where remote working and learning has become the norm, tablets have become an indispensable device for so many,” says Samsung Electronics vice president of global brand marketing group MX (mobile eXperience) business Matthew Leem.

“We know people are increasingly turning to tablets for video calls, online classrooms, gaming and streaming, so we equipped the Galaxy Tab A8 with brilliant new features to help you connect on a new level.”

The Galaxy Tab A8’s lightweight form boasts an expanded 10.5-inch screen with a bezel and a 16:10 common aspect ratio. The result is an 80% screen to body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience. It is also equipped with a Dolby Atmos quad-speaker, which provides a soundscape with detail, depth, and realism.

And with Samsung TV Plus and more than 200 free channels, Galaxy Tab A8 owners can enjoy live and on-demand entertainment content. And for new users, Galaxy Tab A8 comes with two months of ad-free YouTube Premium.

Beyond its display, Galaxy Tab A8 packs even power and performance into Samsung’s Tab A series experience.

Samsung Electronics says the Galaxy Tab A8’s CPU and GPU have each been increased by 10% to deliver faster performance.

The Galaxy Tab A8 offers several tiers of storage options. Choose from 32GB, 64GB or — new to Galaxy Tab A8 — 128GB of storage. It also has an expandable microSD card feature for 1TB of space.

It is also now offered with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It also features a 7,040mAh battery with up to 15W fast-charging.

The past two years have proven tablets can be a gateway to better experiences—for both work and play, says Samsung Electronics. The Galaxy Tab A8 offers educational content and parental controls that make it easy for parents to provide learning environment at home.

Users can access a snapshot of device usage and activity in one place and can set screen time goals and track progress against them throughout the week.

For multi-tasking, the Galaxy Tab A8 can be split and users can use two apps side-by-side and even add a pop-up window too.

If users are in a lecture, they can simultaneously chat with classmates, take notes and view a presentation all at once. And when browsing the internet, they can drag a link from their current window to the side to create a split screen. The Drag & Split feature automatically opens a second browser window for more dynamic webpage browsing.

With Galaxy Tab A8’s 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and brand-new Screen Recorder feature, students, teachers, and even gamers can take clear shots and videos.

Record detailed videos of tutorials or lectures, or users can record themselves while giving a demo with their voice and screen.

This allows them to make annotations as they highlight key points or write on screen to match what they say with they see, helping them to focus with notes.

Galaxy Tab A8 is also backed by Samsung’s industry-leading Knox security platform with multi-layer protection. Face recognition ensures Galaxy Tab A8 owners are the only ones with easy access to their device. Constant real-time protection of the core software ensures outside threats can’t gain access to the device.
