Neuron Mobility partners with Road Safety Foundation on e-scooter safety campaign Featured

e-scooter operator Neuron Mobility is partnering with the Australian Road Safety Foundation in a move it says will lead the way in best practice for shared e-scooter safety around the country.

As part of the partnership, the foundation will advise on Neuron’s e-scooter safety materials, including Neuron’s safety guidelines which are used to provide e-scooter riders with theoretical, as well as practical, lessons on how to ride safely on roads.

ARSF will also conduct webinars for Neuron’s Safety Ambassadors, focused on best practices for accident prevention and e-scooter safety.

Alongside the safety sessions, the ARSF will be reviewing Neuron’s incident data annually to highlight potential improvements and also to compare e-scooters with other modes of transport.

“Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Neuron so we are delighted to partner with the ARSF, who are the absolute authority when it comes to road safety in Australia,” said Zachary Wang, CEO of Neuron Mobility.

“Neuron and the ARSF share a common goal of educating road users -- including e-scooter riders -- to keep them safe and reduce accidents as much as possible. We see this partnership as a very important next step in our ongoing rider education programme.”

Wang notes that this year Neuron has rolled out its #ScootSafe campaign in cities across Australia and, as part of this, Safety Ambassadors have briefed hundreds of e-scooter riders, in cities where Neuron is present, to remind them of the riding rules and to highlight top safety tips and guidelines.

Russell White, CEO of ARSF, said: “With more Australian cities embracing e-scooters as an alternative to less sustainable forms of transport, we are delighted to be partnering with Neuron to help educate the public on the safest way to ride e-scooters.”

“Neuron’s core focus on safety and their safety-leading e-scooter makes them an ideal partner for the ARSF. We look forward to working with them to enable healthy, active lives through good education and also to reduce the number of e-scooter accidents on Australia’s roads.”
