The last-minute Father's Day gadget gift guide

Left shopping for Dad until the last minute? Well, fathers can be notoriously hard to figure out what to get, but iTWire has your back. Here’s a selection of great gadgets sure to be a hit.

Not to be mistaken with the power bank brand, the Morphée (note the acute) helps you fall asleep faster and helps you benefit from a deep and restful sleep. It’s a gadget, charged by USB and with a battery, but it is screenless and doesn’t send any waves. Instead, it’s a unique retro-style unit designed by sleep experts to provide over 200 combinations of guided meditation and sophrology sessions.

Sophrology is a dynamic relaxation method, and not only will this help Dad get a night of good sleep, but Mum is sure to love it too.

You get a choice of a male or female voice, and along with the sessions, there are eight relaxing songs, eight nature sounds in 3D, and eight cardiac coherence sessions. The device has a speaker but also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack.

You don't simply press a button to fire things off; instead, it comes with three keys you turn to choose the category, the program number, and the duration. The included booklet provides details on all the programs by category, and the design is highly appealing and works to turn off the digital world and relax your mind. iTWire has been using it and can attest to the satisfying key turning, the pleasant and soothing sessions, and the relaxing way it lulls you to sleep.

What's more, its wooden shell doubles as a cover so you can take it travelling.

See it in action here:

Twelve South HiRise 3

This three-in-one desktop charging stand is a great bedside gift. It includes a 150cm USB-C power cable (you’ll need to provide your own 20W USB-C or higher power adapter). It is an elegant little stand that takes up only a tiny footprint on the nightstand - less than a phone itself - but can nicely charge your smartphone, smartwatch and earbuds overnight. Or, one phone and another phone and something else. Whatever you like, provided it supports wireless charging and can fit on the stand.

While it works with compatible Android devices, if the Dad in your life is in the Apple ecosystem, then it’s a perfect match; the main charger is sturdy and magnetic and delivers 10W of charge, holding MagSafe iPhones upright for convenient use while charging, as well as keeping an eye on the time when waking during the night. Place the AirPods case on the base, the Apple Watch on the top, and Dad starts each day fully connected and fully empowered.

iTWire has been using this, replacing several previous chargers all in one device, and we appreciated its support for modern MagSafe devices.

Cricut Maker 3

For the Dad who dominates the DIY world, the Cricut Maker 3 is one of the most versatile gifts you can give. Note, that’s Cricut like “cricket”, not Cricut like die-cut,

The Cricut Maker 3 is an intelligent cutting machine that works with a simple Design Space app. Fire it up, create your design, send it to the Maker 3 and watch it go! It can cut 300+ materials from Vinyl for dad’s bespoke bike stickers and Iron-On for tee’s featuring his infamous dad jokes to heavier materials such as balsa wood for his more demanding DIY projects. Versatile enough for any project Dad is undertaking next, not only does the Cricut Maker 3 cut, but it also draws, engraves, scores and more,

And hey, if you're short on Dad Jokes, here's my own book on it!

Even if you don't know what you'll do with a Cricut Maker, trust me, you need one, and you'll find lots of use. In fact, Mrs iTWire loves hers and makes children's clothing, hats, decals and lettering for water bottles, and all kinds of gifts and crafts. She was right on the Thermomix, and she's right on the Cricut Maker.

Ecovacs Deebot X1 Plus

For the Dad who complains about mess yet doesn't want to lift a finger when it comes to household chores? - the Deebot X1 Plus is the perfect self-autonomous cleaning companion. With stunning and modern Jacob Jensen industrial design, the X1 Plus is a top-of-the-line cleaning system that exudes timeless beauty and seamless functionality. Boasting cutting-edge features, including its own YIKO voice assistant, auto-empty station, interchangeable air freshener capsule, AIVI 3D obstacle avoidance and TrueMapping technology, this wise vacuum cleaner is truly the definition of tomorrow's robots today. Home cleaning has never looked so good nor smelled so fresh!

Amazon Ring security

When Dad's not saying "Hi hungry, I'm Dad," and when he's not putting the thermostat back how it belongs, and when he's not breaking wind, Dad's mind is firmly on protecting his family. Amazon Ring is a set of devices that provide motion-sensitive cameras, floodlights, and two-way audio. iTWire uses the Ring video doorbell and it's great for keeping an eye on parcel deliveries, deterring bad guys, and even talking to the dog when we're all at Grandma's for the day.

Ring is offering savings up to 25% off from its doorbells to security cameras. Give Dad the gift of knowing his family is safe and secure, even when he's away from home.

Airthings Wave Plus

Wave Plus from Airthings is an intelligent, battery-operated, indoor air quality monitor with six sensors to measure radon, CO2, humidity, temp, airborne chemicals (VOCs) and pressure. We spend 90% of our time indoors. Measuring our indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the most important steps we can take to prevent illness and increase productivity, energy and good health.

Airthings, the IAQ specialists and experts in radon, created the Airthings Wave Plus—the first smart IAQ monitor with Radon detection, designed for homes and all populated spaces. It is the perfect solution for homeowners, employers and facility managers to gain complete visibility into six indoor air factors; radon, carbon dioxide (CO2), airborne chemicals (TVOCs), humidity, temperature and air pressure.

Let Dad look after his health and yours with this great air quality monitor.

Jabra Elite 5 true wireless earbuds

Brand new - literally, only announced today - the Jabra Elite 5 true wireless earbuds allow Dad to focus on what matters and tune out what doesn't. Ok, that doesn't mean focusing on the football and tuning out the kids, but being immersed in his music or podcasts or voice calls because the earbuds include Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. They have six microphones and wind noise reduction and fine-tuned 6mm speakers - all of this means you get powerful sound while tuning out the outside world - both for the wearer and for those they are speaking with on the call.

The earbuds have seven hours of playtime and up to 28 hours with the included Qi-certified wireless charging case. It supports Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity so you can pair it to two devices at once - the laptop and phone, for example - meaning you can play music but take calls when needed without switching earbuds. It works with your favourite digital assistant for hands-free use. It's designed for all-day comfort and is IP55-rated against dust and water.
