Sonos and Ikea launch Symfonisk picture frame that plays your favourite tunes in Australia

The new Symfonisk picture frame and WiFi speaker will be available in Australian stores and online from January 2022, retailing at $299 each, with Vinyl or Splash panels at $25 each to customise your artwork.

Sonos is well known as a maker of premium connected speakers, and its expertise has been blended with Ikea's knowledge in home furnishing to provide a high-quality sound experience with a touch of art.

The new Symfonisk picture frame WiFi speaker comes in either black or white with a variety of fronts you can switch to depending on your home, connecting to your WiFi network, and can be used as the only sound source in a room or naturally, connected with other products from the Symfonisk range or other Sonos products.

Ikea's Helen Longford, Home Furnishing Business Leader said: "The new WiFi picture frame speakers take the art of music to a whole new level. You can now create different sound atmospheres in your home, elevating each space to reflect a mood.

"The interchangeable fronts make it easy to choose a style that suits your home, that matches your mood or fits with an occasion. The SYMFONISK picture frame speakers are versatile and eye-catching, and they are part of the growing IKEA Home smart range. Our ambition is to enable the many people to enjoy a smart home as part of everyday life."

Together, Ikea and Sonos say they want to democratise music and sound in the home and bring a better listening experience to the many people.

As you'd expect, we're told that with the new Symfonisk picture frame WiFi speaker, people can enjoy both room-filling sound and a beautiful piece of art.

And, as with previous Symfonisk products, this new speaker is also part of the Sonos system, which means listeners can connect to more than 100 streaming services as well as the full range of Sonos products.

With a curious mind-set, shared values and passion for great products, Ikea and Sonos say they will "continue to challenge each other to find new solutions to enhance life at home through sound and music."

In addition, research shows that many people believe music is the single most important ingredient for creating the right atmosphere at home.

You're not hearing things when Ikea and Sonos remind us they "recognise the importance of sound and its positive effect on life at home."

The new picture frame speaker follows the Symfonisk lamp speaker and the Symfonisk bookshelf speaker, introduced to the Ikea range in 2019, with the new Symfonisk picture frame WiFi speaker also serving a piece of art that seamlessly blends into the home.
