CES 2022 VIDEO: The Targus range of antimicrobial 'DefenseGuard' keyboards, mice, backpacks, UV-C light and more

Although Targus won a CES 2021 award for its UV-C light, it only seems to be launching now, and isn't yet listed on the Australian site, but even so, Targus has a wide range of antimicrobial technologies on its "DefenseGuard" range that may well become standard across all manufacturers one day.

COVID. It's still with us, with the Omicron strain straining the world's patience and medical resources, as this particular strain seems to be more infectious, despite people being double vaxxed and receiving a booster.

Naturally, this makes hygiene, masks, sanitising and more as important as ever, and given I just spent 11 days in Las Vegas, arriving before CES 2022 and leaving after it ended (and purposefully arrived early and left late to avoid the rush of potentially infected people at the airport, despite many of those people being at CES 2022) - I was very, very lucky not to catch COVID-19, with my incessant sanitising of hands, hand washing, constant wearing of KN95 masks and and sanitising of those masks with a portable UV-C sanitisation bag presumably helping, as all the rapid antigen tests I took, and PCR tests, came back negative.

So, with modern technologies helping to keep us safe, and antimicrobial cases and screen protectors having been available for phones long before COVID struck, it's great to see hardware finally coming with antimicrobial tech built-in as standard - as we can see from Targus

Examples include Dynabook's new Satellite Pro range, which you can read about and watch a video interview with Dynabook's Australian product manager, Matthew Tumminello here, as well as the Targus tech you'll read about below, with videos to match.

Below, you'll see my video interview at the Targus CES 2022 Unveiled stand with Andrew Corkill, the VP of Global Marketing and eCommerce at Targus, but you'll find all the details of the CES 2021 award-winning Targus UV-C sanitisation light (US $299.99) for your desktop here, along with a link to a Targus blog post with all of the links to the DefenseGuard range of antimicrobial keyboards, mice and laptop bags here along with a list of the antimicrobial range here.

There's also the Targus Cypress Hero Backpack with Apple Find My Technology that I can't see on the site but is coming soon, too.

So, here's my video with Andrew Corkill, the VP of Global Marketing and eCommerce at Targus, at the Targus stand at the CES 2022 Unveiled event - followed by a range of other Targus videos showcasing its antimicrobial products.
