The makers of the excellent and affordable SoftMaker Office 2016 suite of MS Office compatible apps for Windows, Linux and other platforms has just released a completely free version, dubbed FreeOffice.
SoftMaker advises that if its customers are already using its SoftMaker Office 2016 product, there is no need to switch over.
However, for those without an office suite, or using competitors that aren’t as compatible or who perhaps are using Microsoft’s limited free online only Office suite, FreeOffice 2016 is naturally being billed as an excellent and completely free alternative.
The company says that SoftMaker FreeOffice 2016 ‘is free to use at home and for business. After using it, you will agree that it is the best free alternative to Microsoft Office.’
FreeOffice is described as being ;a complete office suite with a word processor, a spreadsheet application and a presentation program – all compatible with their counterparts in Microsoft Office.’
‘What's the catch?,’ asks the FreeOffice Website.
‘There is none,’ is the answer, which continues by stating: ‘Simply download it for free and use it for as long as you want. Millions of people are using it every day and enjoy this great free office suite.’

Then there’s the FreeOffice Mobile software for Android smartphones.
