At 9am today, Vodafone Australia is promising to call up some telco fireworks, telling the media to prepare for ‘one briefing you won’t want to miss!’
From 9am today, Vodafone Australia is set to make ‘two very exciting announcements.’
Alerting the Australian tech media to the announcement last week, there’s no word as yet on what the announcements might be, other than the suggesting they’re going to be big and unmissable.
So, with that said, what might these announcements be, if we were to put on our thinking caps of educated guessimationism?
We prognosticate below, please read on!
Might it be something along the lines of the speculated upon ‘dream deal’ of TPG buying Vodafone Hutchison Australia, as speculated upon by the AFR in mid January?
Perhaps we’ll learn that Amaysim will defect from Optus to Vodafone and will take all its customers along for the ride.
It might be that Kogan is doing a much bigger deal with Vodafone than it is already.
Or we might hear of Vodafone deciding to do some work with Artemis pCells and Nokia to build a super network to really rival Telstra’s 4GX by delivering 5G-class pCell technology in a vastly faster timeframe than is currently predicted for the ‘post 2020 5G era.’
