ACMA invites public say on five-year spectrum outlook 2018-22

By

The Australian Communications and Media Authority's Draft 2018-22 Five Year Spectrum Outlook is now available, and the authority has invited the public to have its say before 15 June.

The ACMA tells us that its draft five-year spectrum outlook presents its "spectrum management priorities for the next five years, and includes a detailed work plan for the next year".

This year, the ACMA tells us it is releasing its draft FYSO for "your feedback, prior to publishing a final FYSO for 2018–22".

This year’s FYSO announces "key elements of a revised allocation work program, signals planning priorities, and updates progress on implementation of the Spectrum Review and new radiocommunications legislation".

Highlights of the draft 2018–22 FYSO include:

  • ACMA's forward allocation work program scenarios, which have been revised following stakeholder feedback;
  • Updates on progress on specific activities and milestones since the 2017–21 FYSO was released in October 2017' and
  • ACMA's response to stakeholder feedback from last year’s FYSO throughout the work program.

ACMA says it looks forward to "receiving your feedback on the draft 2018–22 FYSO, which we will use to inform our development of next year’s spectrum work program".

Your feedback needs to be in by COB, Thursday, 15 June 2018.
