CGI supports NSW Government with new digital licensing system launch Featured

IT and business consulting services firm CGI is supplying a new digital licensing platform to manage the various licenses, registrations, permits and certificates required by New South Wales Government agencies to promote public safety and ensure compliance with legislation.

Under the agreement with the New South Wales Department of Customer Service CGI will support a digital first approach to state licensing using the Calytera Amanda product (now owned by Granicus).

The five-year contract was awarded using funding from the government’s new Digital Restart innovation fund and will replace previously disparate licensing systems to enhance licensing across NSW and provide what CGI says will be a more cost-effective, standardised and improved citizen experience.

According to CGI, in order to focus on seamless services, this new vision for licensing incorporates identity verification, automated approval processes and an integrated payment engine to provide error-free license application and renewal turnaround with licenses satisfying all approval criteria immediately issued online.

CGI says the platform is used internationally for broad licensing functions and NSW is leading the way by deploying this digital licensing technology in Australia.

The system supports digital issuance of licenses through the Service NSW MyService app and is tightly integrated with the Service NSW MyService platform that optimises the customer experience and provides a one-stop-shop for NSW Government digital transactions.

An initial deployment was rolled out in early December and CGI says the development of further license types is underway.
