Cloud data management specialist Rubrik and data-centric software company NetApp are extending their relationship in order to improve the integration of their products.

The plan is to ease the movement of data across on-premises to the cloud and multi-cloud mobility to ease recovery, no matter where data is stored, and for the two companies to offer a common set of data management tools across a data fabric.

The arrangements include NetApp acting as a reseller of Rubrik products.

"This extended partnership is game changing for our partners and customers because we will have the ability to offer Rubrik's modern data protection on top of our industry leading systems, software, and cloud service solutions," said Rubrik chief commercial officer Wendy Bahr.

"We're thrilled to deepen our partnership with NetApp and look forward to our future innovations we'll be delivering together."

NetApp senior vice president and general manager Kim Stevenson said "Our customers are experiencing a rapid acceleration to data-driven digital transformation and implementing hybrid multi-cloud solutions to drive innovation.

"Rubrik and NetApp together are delivering data management solutions for digital transformation in a hybrid multi-cloud world."

Rubrik ANZ managing director Jamie Humphrey said "As Australian and New Zealand organisations emerge from last year's recession, it is clear business decisions now need to be made faster than ever before. Success now hinges on having the right data, in the right place, at the right time, delivering the right insight to make the right decision at the new speed of business. \

"This closer collaboration with NetApp will help our partners further accelerate our clients' transformations, helping them become data forward organisations and removing the complexity of data management and mobility across multiple clouds."

Katana1 technology director Ross Ogilvie said "As part of Katana1's seamless data anywhere data-management practice, Rubrik and NetApp extend beyond Katana1's on-premise and Google Cloud practices covering most workloads and major Cloud providers.

"This rad partnership between Rubrik and NetApp simplifies the Katana1 message, offering complimentary toolkits in an intelligent way for Katana1 and our clients."
