Family Zone plans US expansion to meet growing demand

Australian education cyber security provider Family Zone is expanding its operations in the US market after 120 schools in the country deployed its cyber safety platform.

The company says it has now achieved a milestone of 300 schools in total in Australia and the US (125 schools) installing its platform and has partnerships agreed with 20 “school community” schools.

Family Zone managing director Tim Levy says the company has grown US school installations by 54% since February this year, achieving deployments into 49 additional schools.

The company says its recent success in the education sector follows the acquisition in December last year of the intellectual property rights to schools-focused cyber security platform Sonar.

{loadposition}And it says that on acquisition, Sonar had achieved 180 installations in Australian schools and had installations underway in 47 US schools.

Levy says said the company has worked swiftly to integrate Sonar into the broader Family Zone platform, and is now marketing a unified solution for education customers known as School Zone, to provide schools and parents with an integrated approach to cyber safety and security.

According to Family Zone, since the company launched its “School Community” promotion in April this year, it has agreed terms with 20 Australian schools which will see each school mandate the purchase and use of School Zone to their parent communities from the beginning of the 2018 school year.

Under the agreement, these 20 schools will commence promoting the company’s products to their parent communities in term 3 this year.
