Oracle’s Sydney and Melbourne Cloud regions were assessed by an independent assessor under the Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP). 37 OCI services were covered.
"Oracle is working very closely with the public sector in Australia to enable their transformation. This assessment is an important step in meeting the growing demands and compliance requirements of our Australian public sector customers," said Oracle ANZ vice president and regional managing director Cherie Ryan.
"Public sector customers can now confidently unlock the benefits of a true cloud native SaaS, PaaS and IaaS provider in a secure cloud hosted on Australian shores."
The 37 services include Oracle Cloud VMware Solution, which provides a dedicated VMware environment to migrate or extend existing VMware workloads. Oracle claims to be the only major cloud infrastructure provider to announced similar services assessed against Protected level controls for their Australian data centres.
"For regulated workloads moving to the cloud has not always been an easy process even when cloud services have been readily available. For many public sector organisations, moving large databases containing critical data is seen as simply too risky. Our Oracle Cloud VMware Solution makes it easier and safer for them to move data to the cloud – and back – without having to rewrite applications," said Ryan.
