Kali Linux now available for Raspberry Pi 4

With the recent release of the Raspberry Pi 4, the Kali Linux developers were quick to deliver a port to that platform.

Currently only available as a 32-bit environment (with 64-bit to follow shortly), the new build from Offensive Security takes advantage of the massively increased performance offered by the Pi 4:

  • A more powerful CPU
  • Options for 1, 2, or 4 GB of RAM
  • USB-C power supply
  • USB 2 & USB 3
  • Gigabit ethernet
  • 2 micro HDMI ports

In addition to the full feature list available on desktop versions of Kali Linux, there is support for on-board Wi-Fi monitoring and frame injection.

For anyone planning to install the new distro, installation is identical to that of earlier versions. The instructions for installing on the Raspberry Pi 2 have not been updated.

The people at Offensive Security have said "To say we are excited about this is an understatement, and we hope many of you are just as excited!" They also said that development work is on-going and request feedback on the Kali forum as people start to install and use this new version.
