Axis adds to outdoor HD surveillance camera range

By

The latest addition to the Axis range of networked surveillance cameras features full HD video, motorised zoom, autofocus, and infra-red illumination.

The Axis Q1765-LE provides full 1080p video in daylight and at night, according to company officials.

The infra-red LEDs provide illumination to at least 15m on the widest field of view and up to 40m in 'full tele' view.

Consequently it can be used to provide an overview of a wide area or a detailed view of a relatively distant object or person.

The Axis 'corridor format' for coverage of long streets or along walls or fences is offered on this model.

Other features include multiple power options (802.3af Power over Ethernet, 8 to 28V DC, or 20-24V AC), a memory card slot for the local storage of recordings, two-way audio, and "simple and straightforward installation."

Axis country manager for the South Pacific Wai King Wong said "AXIS Q1765-LE is a slim and solid bullet-style camera designed for outdoor surveillance even in challenging conditions.

"Its outstanding robustness and reliability makes it especially suitable for critical installations like traffic junctions."

The $1480 camera will go on sale by the end of the year.
