Tineco is dedicated to engineering premium household electronics that are helpful, easy to use, and smart. It’s been in operation since 1998 and with almost 25 years of experience under its belt, the Tineco Floor One S5 Pro is definitely not your parent’s vacuum you grew up with.
It's a smart cordless wet and dry floor cleaner that both vacuums and mops at the same time. It even propels itself (while you are holding it) so it saves time and effort. As well as handling general floor cleaning, as you’ll imagine, it comes in handy for cleaning up liquid spills.
It does a great thorough clean too, with three suction modes for versatile cleaning and an edge-brush design to clean against tricky walls and in corners. It includes HEPA filtration to capture dust and improve air quality and a self-cleaning system to clean both the roller brush and dirty water channel at the touch of a button.

It also comes with Tineco's proprietary iLoop smart sensor technology which detects dust and automatically adjusts the suction power, water flow, and brush roller speed to clean up messes appropriately and accordingly with a minimum of fuss so you get it all tidied up first-time each time.
iTWire's been using the Tineco S5 Pro to clean our kitchen, dining room, hallways, bathroom, laundry, and lounge room and we’ve definitely found it quiet and easy to manoeuvre.
The vacuum is an upright, cordless model so you charge it on the handy charging stand and also fill up its water tank when you’re ready to go. The tank lasts an entire full clean for our area. You also put in a small amount of cleaning solution each time - the vacuum comes with a bottle that will last you quite some time, and replacements are easy to buy when needed. Mrs iTWire noted the cleaning solution doesn’t have any fragrance so there isn’t quite the same “fresh smell” of using a traditional mop and detergent, but at the same time, you do get to clean all your floors in a fraction of the time and with no cords or buckets to worry about.
Now, a great vacuum and mop are one thing; I’ve said it’s a smart vacuum and sure enough, it has a load of clever features as well as a smartphone app and a 2.1” LCD display with vivid 3D animations that let you know what’s going on with your battery, suction level, maintenance requirements, cleaning status, and more.
The smartphone app connects to your Tineco S5 Pro and gives you a range of metrics to help you understand and optimise your cleaning, and it also lets you update the firmware of your vacuum. Yes, that’s a sentence I never imagined myself writing but the Internet of Things is definitely upon us.
The unit has helpful voice prompts, though it can become a little chatty especially when it thinks it’s time to run self-clean mode, and when it wants you to refill or empty the tank. You can use the app to change the voice assistant volume if you wish (as well as its language), but we found the best solution is to do those things at the end of each clean. This leaves the S5 Pro ready to go right away next time, and also assures it won’t start complaining mid-way through cleaning that it needs some attention.
iTWire found the Tineco S5 Pro definitely easy to use. It’s light, it pushes itself along, it leaves floors sparkling clean, and only needed some minor assembly out of the box. It sucks up liquids quickly and cleans the floor at the same time so it’s definitely a time saver for these little incidents as well as your regular full clean. A ring around the LCD changes colour to reflect the amount of dirt and dust it’s found - and thus when it boosts its cleaning power - and it definitely collects a surprising amount of dirt which I’ll admit I certainly didn’t see with my eye, but my goodness, the dirty water tank showed it up.
It's quite an upright vacuum so you might find a little difficulty in laying it low to reach far under furniture, but really, in every other way it is far superior to a traditional mop and aside from being specific to hard floors (i.e. not carpets) a vacuum too.
It runs for around 35 minutes after four or so hours of charging, and the battery level is easily found on the screen and in the app.
The Tineco Floor One S5 Pro is available from Godfreys for $999. It’s not a budget appliance but it is an all-in-one that saves you from needing two separate devices, as well as cutting down your level of effort and your level of re-doing areas. It’s well worth its price for the efficiency and results it brings.
