Cyber Acoustics has been operating since 1996, quietly making premium audio products for a fraction of competitor prices. Its goal is to deliver high-quality computer peripherals at prices that work for just about everyone, and especially great for working from home or in the office.
Spec-wise, the HS-2000 is a light 167g unit. It features soft, comfortable leatherette earcups, enhanced padding, and an adjustable headband for extended wear. The cable is USB-A, with a USB-A to USB-C adapter included in the box allowing you to plug the headset (or USB sticks, and so on) into USB-C sockets, working equally well with MacBooks as it does on Windows PCs and Chromebooks.
The headset includes a 40mm driver, and an adjustable, rotatable noise-cancelling boom microphone. Nicely, if you flip the microphone past 45 degrees it mutes automatically; flip it back down to turn mute off. This allows you to easily and effortlessly talk to your colleagues without your caller hearing you.

The right earcup has simple touch controls to adjust volume and play and pause music. It also features a nice red ‘busy’ indicator - double-tap the earcup twice to turn the busy light on, and double-tap again to turn it off. This is a great feature to help avoid the person in every office who insists on asking, “are you on the phone?” despite seeing you sitting with headphones on. Yeah, Sharon, I’m talking about you.
Cyber Acoustics has priced the HS-2000 at $US 79.99, noting comparable equivalents from competitors are over $US 100 - even up to almost $US 190. These competitors include the Jabra Evolve2 40, the Poly Blackwire 8225, and the Logitech Zone 750.
Make no mistake; there are features you'd expect in a gaming headset or high-end hi-fidelity setup but those models are higher-priced. Really, for a use-all-day business headset, the Cyber Acoustics SP-2000 brings what you want: comfort, clarity, and simplicity.
