Creative is a name known affectionately to PC gamers with Creative’s SoundBlaster series being the defining sound card of early PC gaming. Creative is still with us and is using its audio engineer expertise to construct a wide range of products - still including computer audio, but also soundbars and earbuds.
In fact, the Creative Outlier Air is now in its third generation, building upon the great success already enjoyed by its two predecessors but delivering even more.
The Creative Outlier Air V3 is a handsome-looking pair of earbuds with a solid, rectangular, carry and charge case. Additional eartips are included in the package to suit different size ears.
Additionally, the earbuds feature active noise reduction and ambient mode, both allowing you to adjust and control the sound around you.

With ambient mode and active noise reduction both off, and with the charging case used, you can expect a vast 40 hours of total playtime. With those noise adjustments turned on, battery life reduces but you still get well over a day’s use. Without the charging case, you still have 10 hours of battery life, and three more recharges using the case. iTWire found the new ambient mode option helpful for walking through busy areas, being able to listen to music and podcasts with clarity while keeping abreast of our surroundings. At other times, using active noise cancelling, we could enjoy peace and serenity. The Outlier Air V3 gives you this flexibility.
The unit includes Bluetooth 5.2, AAC support, quad microphones, dual-voice calls, bio-cellulose drivers, touch controls, IPX5 sweatproof rating, and built-in support for both Siri and Google Assistant.
An accompanying smartphone app, the Creative App, allows you to set up your product, customise playback controls, personalise audio settings, enhance the earbud’s performance and more. You can customise the buttons, adjust the noise control level, modify audio settings with graphic EQ, and apply software upgrades to the earbuds as they are made available by Creative.
The box includes the earbuds and charging case, a USB-C cable, and replaceable eartips in three different sizes for maximum comfort.
Additionally, the earbuds are certified for Super X-Fi, a software technology that recreates a professional multi-speaker system experience - right in your ears. Super X-Fi uses computational audio to personalise the earbud or headphone experience based on how you hear sound, giving you the most optimised and realistic listening experience. Super X-Fi allows you to really hear sounds naturally, like how it was intended to be heard by the original producers.
Creative has hit a winner again with the latest incarnation of its Outlier Air range, the V3, and you can find them online for only $72.95 right now during a promotional period, then $99.95 afterwards.
