Brother P-Touch printer PT-P300 – small, light and fast

Brother has uncoupled its new P-Touch labeller from the PC and instead uses an iOS or Android or device as the controller. The result is a new, smaller, more flexible label printer.

It makes sense to shift the smarts to an app on a smartphone or tablet. The PT-P300BT is the world’s first smartphone or tablet dedicated labeller for home or office use.

With no keyboard or PC connectivity, labels are created and edited via the new P-Touch Design&Print app, available free on Android and iOS app stores. The app allows extensive customisation and selection of fonts, designs and material to suit your preferences, including useful templates with pre-made labels and pattern designs. The innovative app features exclusive content and templates that will be expanded over time.

The compact and portable design fits easily into any home or office environment and, weighing only 380g and at 20mm/sec print speed, it is also the fastest, lightest thermal label printer in its class.

The PT-P300BT enables users to be creative in organising their space and things with Brother’s large range of TZe tapes, ranging from 3.5 to 12mm. With the addition of the new ribbon and decorative pattern tapes, users can now personalise their Christmas or birthday gift tags and wrapping.

"We're very excited to introduce the PT-P300BT into our ever-growing P-Touch family of labellers. We particularly love its unique style, its versatility and how easy it is to use’, said Stefanie Murphy, marketing specialist at Brother Australia.

“We are living in a digital age where we are never far from our mobile devices so when it comes to labelling, making a device that is compact and highly portable was an obvious priority. Its trendy design also means that the style conscious don't need to sacrifice aesthetics for functionality. You can truly have both with the PT-P300BT.”

On sale from 1 December, the Brother PT-P300BT label printer is priced at $79.
