Xero boosts Australia, NZ team with new appointments

Cloud accounting software provider Xero has beefed up its Australia-New Zealand management team with two new appointments.

The new appointments see Rachael Powell take up the role of Chief People Officer and Kirsty Godfrey-Billy appointed as Chief Accounting Officer.

Powell and Godfrey-Billy will report to Sankar Narayan, Chief Financial Officer’s organisation.

Powell, who led the talent function for Zomato across Asia Pacific, will be based in Melbourne. Prior to Zomato, she worked as an Associate Director of Executive Search firm Six Degrees Executive.

Powell has also spent time as a management consultant working with small and medium sized organisations along with 12 years with IBM, leading and developing teams across Australia and New Zealand and launching ISV programs into Asia Pacific.

Most recently a Partner at PwC, Godfrey-Billy will be based in Wellington to run the finance and accounting advocacy function at Xero.

Godfrey-Billy has diverse work experience within both commercial business and chartered accounting firms, including recent work with businesses from a broad mix of industries in the Taranaki region.

Godfrey-Billy also founded Taranaki Technology, which she currently leads.
